This event will be a panel discussion with one of France’s most innovative philosophers Vincent Descombes about his most recent book The Institutions of Meaning (Harvard 2014). Descombes is also author of The Mind's Provisions (Princeton, 2001), Modern French Philosophy (Cambridge, 1980), and Proust: Philosophy of the Novel (Stanford, 1992).
