TFs encounter students who come from diverse language backgrounds; several may be bi or tri-lingual. This panel will explore the cognitive processes underlying bilingualism and the assets and challenges it creates for learning and communicating. Strategies for reading, writing, and public speaking/presentation in academic settings will be discussed as they relate to students’ experiences.
