Kyle Haddad-Fonda ‘09 wins Rhodes Scholarship

Kyle Haddad-Fonda ‘09, a joint concentrator in History and Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations, has been awarded a Rhodes Scholarship to pursue a doctorate in Oriental Studies at the University of Oxford. (See the Harvard Crimson for a longer profile. Haddad-Fonda is currently engaged in writing a senior honors thesis on Egyptian-Chinese relations.

Prof. Blair Appointed Radcliffe Institute Faculty Leader

Professor Ann Blair, Henry Charles Lea Professor of History, was appointed one of six Radcliffe Institute Faculty Leaders. The announcement appeared in the November 20-December 3, 2008 edition of the Harvard University Gazette and on the Radcliffe Institute’s website.

Susan Ware in Harvard Gazette

Susan Ware (PhD, 1978) spoke on Monday, November 17th at the Charles Warren Center about her work-in-progress “Sports Matters: Billie Jean King and Second Wave Feminism” and was featured in the article “Appreciating Billie Jean King’s contribution to second-wave feminism” in the November 20-December 3, 2008 edition of the Harvard University Gazette.

Challenges for the New President,” held at Dartmouth College on Monday, November 10, 2008.

Prof. Tai & Prof. Elikins in Harvard Gazette

Professor Hue-Tam Ho Tai and Professor Caroline Elkins both appeared in the article “Post-colonial wars parsed at Radcliffe: Nuanced analysis, ranges of views mark interdisciplinary conference” in the November 6-12, 2008 edition of the Harvard Gazette.

Tai and Elkins were panelists at the two-day interdisciplinary conference on post-colonial wars hosted by the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study on October 30-31st.
