Eric Nemarich

Eric studies the experience and ideology of government in high and late medieval Europe. His dissertation explores these themes through the lives of “petty officials”—low-level functionaries who served the courts of public justice—in the cities of fourteenth-century Italy. Eric is broadly interested in the social forces that shaped cultures of power in the medieval and early modern world.
