FlyerPlease join us on Wednesday, February 14, 12-2 pm for a special lunchtime session of the Borders in Modern Asia Seminar Series.

Arupjyoti Saikia, Suryya Kumar Bhuyan Endowment Chair on Assam History in the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, India and currently Charles Wallace Fellow at the University of Cambridge, will present his paper "Unwilling Hosts: Partition and the Entangled Histories of Assam."

Sunil Amrith, Mehra Family Professor of South Asian Studies at Harvard. and Abhilash Medhi, PhD student at Brown University, will be the commentators. Prof. Saikia will give a short introductory presentation followed by commentaries. It promises to be a very interesting session, both for the specificity of Assam and the broader context of postcolonial South Asia.

This event will be chaired by Professor Sugata Bose, Gardiner Professor of History at Harvard.

The seminar will be in CGIS South-S250 on Wednesday, February 14, 12-2 pm. Lunch will be served.
