Borders in Modern Asia Session 2: Matthew Shutzer

Please join us for the second session of the Borders in Modern Asia Seminar Series. Matthew Shutzer, PhD Candidate in History, New York University, will workshop his paper, "Nature has become carbonised: Landscapes of Coal and Frontiers of Value in Eastern Chotanagpur, 1870-1914," a history of coal in the subcontinent. The commentators are Anthony Medrano, postdoctoral fellow at Harvard, and Rohit Chandra, PhD student at Harvard Kennedy School.

The seminar will be in William James Hall 450 on Wednesday, November 8, 4-6 pm. A light dinner will be served, and you are free to hang out and chat till 7 pm. Please note that the date and place has changed since our previous announcement.
