 East German civil rights activists Siegbert Schefke and Uwe Schwabe will give first-hand accounts of the Leipzig Monday demonstrations that sparked off the peaceful revolution of 1989 and the fall of the Berlin Wall. The discussion will be chaired by prize-winning historian Mary Elise Sarotte, author of The Collapse: The Accidental Opening of the Berlin Wall. A reception will follow from 6 - 7 p.m. in the CES Atrium.
