### About

In this presentation, Agata Zysiak will discuss a new project that evaluates journalistic accounts about the city of Łódź at the height of its position as Europe's textile capital in the 19th and 20th century. She will assess how writers dealt with the effects of industrialization and modernization and argue that their reports blended people's real experiences in the rapidly changing city with their utopian visions of its potential.
