Reception and opening of new gallery exhibit "Landscapes of History" by Vivien Schmidt

CES will host an opening reception for a new art exhibit at the Jacek E. Giedrojć Gallery. "Landscapes of History" features the Italian land- and cityscape photography of Vivien A. Schmidt, Professor of International Relations and Political Science, Boston University, and CES local affiliate faculty.  Schmidt's photographs evoke the deep connection of Italian landscapes with European art history and Western understanding of politics and history.  These landscapes are enduring.  Through their timelessness, today’s landscapes of Italy form the deepest connection between ancient political traditions and contemporary political ideas and echo aspirations toward a Europe unified and without borders.
