Harvard Extension School: Public History Master Class with Ric Burns: "The Pilgrims” and Documentary Film as an Interpretive Tool

Date:

Tuesday, March 29, 2016, 7:00pm to 9:00pm

Location:

Forum Room, Lamont Library

Please join us for an intimate and inside perspective on the use of documentary film-making to communicate the past to the present by an expert in the field, Ric Burns. His Steeplechase Films most recently produced “The Pilgrims,” which aired on PBS’s American Experience last November to considerable acclaim. Using “The Pilgrims” a focal point for discussion of interpreting history through film, students will have a unique opportunity to engage Ric about the details of his process and background, and create a valuable experience in which the invited audience can also share.

Public History Master Classes are sections of The Practice of Public History (MUSE E-137), a course in the Museum Studies Program of the Harvard Extension School.

A valid Harvard I.D. will be required to participate. Not open to the public.
