PEM: Public Study Day "Consuming Luxury: Asia in Amsterdam"

The Peabody Essex Museum will be hosting a public study day entitled Consuming Luxury: Asia in Amsterdam, on Saturday, April 16, 2016 from 9:30 am - 6 pm. This event, held in conjunction with PEM's current Asia in Amsterdam: The Culture of Luxury in the Golden Age exhibition, will explore Amsterdam's unique position as a link between Asia and Europe, and will consider the influence of luxury imports from Asia on a broad range of subjects, from painting, textiles and interiors, to food and ideas.
