DESCRIPTION:
Please refer to the agenda for sessions on March 22 & 23.

	About

The 18th annual Harvard Graduate Student Conference on International History (Con-IH) will bring together scholars from around the world to discuss the theme of "The Pacific in the World." This is a two-day conference organized by Harvard graduate students.

The Pacific Ocean has been the site of unique ecological and environmental patterns, protracted political contestations, grand imperial dreams and diverse movements of resistance. It has facilitated the movement of labor and goods so foundational to contemporary international orders. Additionally, the Pacific World has been central to forging modern constructs of race, gender, and sexuality. Con-IH 18 will provide a forum for the discussion of cutting-edge studies that examine the multifaceted histories of the Pacific, and in the process, push the boundaries of international and global history, in terms of both content and methodology.

	Sponsors

 Department of History, Harvard University

Minda de Gunzburg Center for European Studies, Harvard University

Jean Monnet ad Personam Chair in European Union Law and Government

 Real Colegio Complutense, Harvard University

with the support of the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in the United States

	Sessions

 THURSDAY, MARCH 22, 2018

 10:00am - 12:00pm

The 18th Annual Harvard Graduate Student Conference on International History (Con-IH) — The Pacific in the World - Panel 1: Pacific Internationalisms

 1:30pm - 3:30pm
The 18th Annual Harvard Graduate Student Conference on International History (Con-IH) — The Pacific in the World - Panel 2: Trade in the Pacific
 FRIDAY, MARCH 23, 2018

 10:00am - 12:00pm
The 18th Annual Harvard Graduate Student Conference on International History (Con-IH) — The Pacific in the World - Panel 1: The Black Pacific1:00pm - 3:00pm
The 18th Annual Harvard Graduate Student Conference on International History (Con-IH) — The Pacific in the World - Panel 2: The Environment3:30pm - 5:00pm
The 18th Annual Harvard Graduate Student Conference on International History (Con-IH) — The Pacific in the World - Panel 3: Plenary
