Nadifa Mohamed in Conversation with Maya Jasanoff
Writers Speak, a series of literary conversations at the Mahindra Humanities Center, welcomes Nadifa Mohamed for a conversation with CES Resident Faculty Maya Jasanoff. Nadifa Mohamed is the author of Black Mamba Boy (Picador, 2011), which won the Betty Trask Prize and was shortlisted for the Guardian First Book Prize, and The Orchard of Lost Souls (Farrar, Straus and Giroux, 2013), which won the Prix Albert Bernard and was shortlisted for the Hurston/Wright Legacy Award. In 2013 she was selected as one of Granta’s "Best of Young British Novelists." Her novel, The Fortune Men published by Viking UK in 2021, and Knopf in the US, was a finalist for The Man Booker Prize.
The conversation will be led by Maya Jasanoff, X.D. and Nancy Yang Professor of Arts and Sciences and Coolidge Professor of History at Harvard University and resident faculty at the Minda de Gunzburg Center for European Studies. Jasanoff served as chair of the 2021 Booker Prize’s judging committee.
Writers Speak is a lecture series organized by Harvard's Mahindra Humanities Center which brings significant contemporary writers to speak on campus, with the intention of fostering literary conversation.
