SUMMARY:Harvard Extension School: Public History Master Class with Tony Horwitz: “Meditations on the Ignorance of History"
DESCRIPTION:
Join us for an intimate exploration of the "ignorance of history and the primacy of fiction over fact" with former Radcliffe Institute Fellow, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, and best-selling author Tony Horwitz. Tony has taken public history in new directions with works such as his seminal Confederates in the Attic: Dispatches from the Unfinished Civil War, A Voyage Long and Strange, and Blue Latitudes: Boldly Going Where Captain Cook Has Gone Before, each with his characteristically perspicacious view on the important ways that the past interacts with the present.

Public History Master Classes are sections of The Practice of Public History (MUSE E-137), a course in the Museum Studies Program of the Harvard Extension School. Please contact Taylor Stoermer (stoermer@fas.harvard.edu) with any questions.

HARVARD ID REQUIRED "
