Chloe Bordewich (HMES)
Chloe Bordewich entered the joint History & Middle Eastern Studies PhD program in 2015. She received her AB in Near Eastern Studies from Princeton University and was a fellow at the Center for Arabic Study Abroad in Cairo from 2012-13. She then worked on international elections and human rights at The Carter Center in Atlanta, Georgia. Her research focuses on the genealogy of historical narratives and politics of memory in the late and post-Ottoman Arab world, especially Egypt. She is interested in the use of popular oral, literary, and visual sources alongside the traditional archive.
