Farhad Dokhani (HMES)
Farhad is a Ph.D. student in the joint History and Middle Eastern Studies degree program. He explores thought and trends at the intersection of the early modern and modern periods in the Middle East, particularly in Iran. Among Farhad's primary research interests are Islamic and Iranian intellectual history, mysticism and Sufism, anti-Sufism, Shi'ism, Qajar Iran, ecumenical thought in Islam and historiography. Farhad holds a B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin (2009) as well as an M.A. from the University of Chicago (2012).
