James Almeida

James is a scholar of Colonial Latin America in the context of the Early Modern Atlantic World. His research centers on the legal and social history of silver money produced in Potosí (home to the world's largest silver mine and located in modern Bolivia), with an eye to how silver produced images of empire and social differentiation. James holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in International Business from Boise State University and Master of Arts in History from Florida International University.
