Jesus Solis entered the History PhD program in 2017. He is interested in modern Japanese history and his research focuses on the development of black markets in Japan during the American occupation. Jesus graduated with a BA in History and English from Adams State University where he earned six NCAA Division II All-American awards and three Academic All-American awards in cross-country and track & field. He later earned a dual MA in History and Asian Languages and Civilizations from the University of Colorado. In March 2017 he graduated from the University of Tokyo with an MA in Economic History.
