I am an advanced standing senior in Leverett, from the UK, studying history with a secondary field in economics. I am currently writing my thesis on Indian politicians in Britain in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and their conceptions of international politics, political legitimacy and economics. I am also interested in the history of nationalism, Russian history, and the application of statistical methods to historical problems. Semi-extracurricularly, I work as a research assistant for a professor in the sociology department and tutor econometrics. Before choosing history I seriously considered economics and social studies. I like that the history concentration is very flexible, offers lots of opportunities for independent research, and places a strong emphasis on thinking critically and writing effectively. Please contact me if you want to discuss the history concentration, or history more generally.
