Hello everyone! My name is Waseem and I am a junior pursuing a joint concentration in History and Social Anthropology. I am from Palestine (Jerusalem and Nablus) but was raised and have lived in Texas for most of my life.
Within the history discipline, my interests primarily lie in the history of the modern Middle Eastern—specifically, the history of the Holy Land. Much of my studies rely on the oral and physical histories of the 1948 Nakba as part of a broader exploration of how the event impacted both modern and historical conceptions of Palestinian identity. If any of that is of interest to you, please don’t hesitate to reach out!
Outside of the classroom, I’ve been involved quite heavily with the Institute of Politics, the Small Claims Advisory Service, as well as various other student organizations. In my free time, I enjoy making art (specifically, painting and ceramics) and appreciating it as well (you can find me in the Harvard Art Museums quite a bit).
