Francesca Maria Corrao is Professor of Arabic Language and Culture in the Department of Political Science at Rome's Libera Università Internazionale degli Studi Sociali Guido Carli. Her research interests include political thought in the Arab world, cultural studies, history of the Middle East, Gender Studies, Arabic literature, and intercultural dialogue. Prof Corrao is President of the Fondazione Orestiadi, a member of the Union of European Arabists and Islamists (UEAI), and a member of the executive committee of European Scholars of Modern Arabic Literature (EURAMAL).
