DRCLAS: Mexico, Central America & the Caribbean Program: "Treasures from the Underworld of the City of the Gods"

Speaker: Sergio Gómez Chávez, Archaeologist and Director of the Tlalocan Project: Underground Road in Teotihuacan 

Moderator: David Carrasco, Neil L. Rudenstine Professor of the Study of Latin America, with a joint appointment with the Department of Anthropology in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences

This event will explore findings in the archaeological explorations in the tunnel beneath the Temple of the Feathered Serpent in Teotihuacan, Mexico. The entrance to this tunnel was recently located in 2010. Some believe that ancient rulers may be buried inside, beyond the many treasures already discovered.
