This workshop brings together scholars from multiple disciplines to explore China’s changing landscapes across space and time – from a landscape painting exhibited at the imperial capital Kaifeng to the expanding desert around the Yellow River’s Great Bend, from animal pasture in Tibet’s sacred mountains to steamships in the currents of the Yangzi River, from interpretations of landscape myths to recreations of mythical landscapes. Join us for a learned investigation into China’s environmental issues past and present.
