HLS: Fellow’s Lecture: The Trial of a Heretic: (Muslim Toledo, 11th Century) Judicial Procedure and Political Context

Join a Fellow’s Lecture with Dr. Maribel Fierro.

 Dr. Fierro will discuss her current research on a significant Andalusian judicial figure from the 11th Century. Dr. Fierro's research focuses on the political, religious, and intellectual history of al-Andalus and the Islamic West (eighth—fifteenth centuries), on Islamic law, and on violence and its representation in Medieval Arabic sources.

 Dr. Fierro is a Visiting Scholar at the Center for Middle Eastern Studies, Harvard University; and Director of El Centro de Ciencias Humanas y Sociales (CSIC) in Madrid, Spain.
