Arjun Purohit

Hey everyone! I'm Arjun, and I'm a senior in Lowell House hailing from Ann Arbor, Michigan. I am concentrating in History with a secondary in Economics and a citation in Italian. My senior thesis investigates British foreign policy toward the Ottoman Empire in the late nineteenth century and the role American journalists played in galvanizing British public opinion via reportage on atrocities committed against religious minorities in the Balkans. My historical interests lie in Ottoman history, the 19th century nation-state, and intellectual history spanning the 19th and 20th centuries. Outside of class, I work in the thinktank world and perform stand-up comedy at venues around Boston.
