At Harvard since February 2025, Professor De Campos conducts research in comparative history: Brazil and the United States, focusing especially on the production of short stories in the 1950s, through the writings of American writer Peter De Vries in The New Yorker magazine. The study is carried out through analyses of the writings and how they influenced the work of the well-known Brazilian writer Luis Fernando Verissimo, who recently passed away on September 30, 2025, at the age of 88. The project described is a specific excerpt from a broader one entitled America from black cat to alligator: Humor in the Present Time in the works of Luis Fernando Verissimo (1953-2020).
