Issouf Dosso

Issouf Dosso is a PhD student at the University of Harvard, where he is preparing a dissertation in African history. Before entering the History PhD program at Harvard, he earned an MA degree in American literature and civilization from the Université Peleforo Gon and another MA degree in Dependency and Slavery Studies from the University of Bonn. His research interests include slavery and abolition studies, French colonialism, digital history, African women’s history and gender studies. His research specifically examines the processes of the abolition of slavery in northwestern Côte d’Ivoire and its lingering legacies on relations between descendants of former owners and slaves.
