Samantha Skula

Hello! I'm Samantha, a junior in Eliot House double concentrating in History and Government. I'm originally from Chicago, IL. My primary interest in history lies in military history, leading me to take classes on World War I, World War II, and the Vietnam War. In Government, my studies center on democratic backsliding and authoritarianism -- subjects that meaningfully overlap with my historical interests by explaining how and why governments respond to crisis and conflict.

Aside from academics, I am involved in various government-related programs such as Democracy Matters and the Community Action Committee at the IOP, both focused on furthering community involvement and civic participation. I also work at Lamont Library in Government Documents and would be happy to answer any questions about navigating library resources.

Outside of Harvard, I enjoy reading, listening to music, going to museums, and exploring the Boston area. Whether you have questions about the History or Government concentrations, navigating Harvard, or just want to chat—please don’t hesitate to reach out!

Sincerely,
Samantha Skula
