Will Smith

I am senior in Kirkland in the class of 2026 concentrating in East Asian History (joint between the Department and East Asian Studies) with a secondary concentration in Statistics. My senior thesis will investigate newspapers in Korea during Japanese rule and how interaction with the infrastructure of the Japanese Empire is sometimes today viewed as complicity with Japan or a betrayal of Korea.  My long-term career plan is to pursue a doctorate in history and East Asian studies.
