University of Cambridge to confer the degree of Doctor of Letters upon Professor David Armitage

The University of Cambridge will confer the degree of Doctor of Letters (LittD) upon David Armitage, Lloyd C. Blankfein Professor of History at Harvard University. The LittD degree is a higher doctorate conferred on the basis of "proof of distinction by some original contribution to the advancement of science or of learning."
