Lydia Walker was a Ph.D. Candidate in the History Department at Harvard, specializing in the international history of decolonization and the Cold War.  Her work tracks the interplay between nationalism and internationalism in the emergence of post-colonial nation-states in South Asia and Southern Africa.  She is interested in post 1945 political transformation, the role of non-state actors in international relations, and definitions of national sovereignty.
