Three History courses included in curriculum for the College’s new “Certificate for Civic Engagement”

Starting with the class of 2025, Harvard College students will have the opportunity to apply to pursue a certificate program in Civic Engagement. The program includes classroom, practical, and capstone components, and upon completion, students will receive recognition on their academic transcripts.

The following History courses have been approved as part of the Certificate for Civic Engagement:

  • History 12Y, Capitalism, Crime, and Punishment in American History (Aaron Bekemeyer)
  • History 15E: Writing Histories of Climate Change (Arunabh Ghosh and Emma Rothschild)
  • History 1973: Re-Wilding Harvard (Joyce Chaplin)
