Harvard Film & Visual Studies Graduate Conference
October 8–10, 2020
The graduate program in Film and Visual Studies at Harvard University is pleased to announce (Im)possibility, a virtual conference tracing the limits of representation, visibility, and theory.
The conference begins at 6:00pm EST on October 8, 2020 with a virtual screening of Ja’Tovia Gary’s film The Giverny Document (Single Channel) (2019). The screening will be immediately followed at 7:00pm EST by a keynote conversation between Gary and Frank B. Wilderson III, with introductory remarks by Aria Dean. Throughout the day on October 9 and 10, conference proceedings will bring together scholars and practitioners working across film and media studies, visual culture, and Black studies; see the schedule for details and Zoom registration links.
The Giverny Document will be freely available for streaming throughout the duration of the conference here.
